2017 Dauphin Agriculture Society BursaryFor over thirty years the Dauphin Agricultural Society has proudly offered a bursary for a local high school graduate interested in studying for a career in human ecology or agriculture.
In 2017, the Dauphin Agricultural Society offering an award of $ 1000.00 towards the first or second year of tuition for post secondary studies in Human Ecology, Agriculture, Environment, Food Science, Human Nutrition, Agriculture Engineering or Veterinary Medicine (applicant may be entering University 1 with the intent to pursue a degree in one of these areas), a university diploma in Agriculture, community college diploma in agri-business, vet technician or other agriculture related course including apprenticeship programs at any post secondary educational institution in Canada.
(1) May be entering their first or second year of post secondary study, and
(2) Must have their permanent residence in communities within the geographic area including the Rural Municipalities of Dauphin, Ochre River, Mossey River, Ethelbert, Ste. Rose, Alonsa, Laurier, Gilbert Plains, Grandview, McCreary, Lawrence or Mountain, the unorganized territories of the Waterhen area or Crane River area.
The bursary must be utilized within eighteen months of being awarded.

2017 Major Jay Fox Memorial Scholarship
The Major Jay Fox Memorial Scholarship has been developed by the Manitoba Outstanding Young Farmers in honour of Jay and the contribution that he made to agriculture in Canada. An annual scholarship will be presented to recognize a student continuing in the field of agriculture that has made a significant difference in their communities. One bursary will be awarded annually in the amount of $500.00. The following criteria have been developed and applications must be received no later than June 9th, 2017. Must be at least 17 years of age as at January 1, 2017
Must use the bursary within two years
Must submit a 250 word (maximum) typed essay stating their future goals in agriculture and "In your opinion, what could be done to retain a larger number of young people in agriculture in Manitoba (Canada)".
